Thanks for the info Dan, do you have a picture or link so I can see what this flagpole looks like? You have me wondering how your flagpole can go in a light socket without shorting it out. How much did the flag cost including S&H?

[black]And you do what for a living? Put a non-conductive material for the male end adapter of the pole and you won't have a problem! LOL! Sorry, Curt, couldn't resist! LOL![/black]

That is what I was wondering, I was hoping he wasn't sticking a metal pole into a convenient hole that was already on his boat. I figured it was made for the light socket and it was non-conductive material but you just never know.

I couldn't find this product on Bass Pro; however, here is a link to one at another website:

Thanks Kent, I thought that was a good price until I checked the price of the S&H, $8.50. I think it would work if the pole was also a light but it doesn't look like it is from the ad. On a different note, do you remember the name of the bait shop at that little town by CJ Strike?

[red] Sorry I couldn't get right back to to this post. Things got very busy at the Base as you all know. Anyway the flagpole that I got from basspro is an aluminum telescopic pole. The picture that Kent shows is just like the one I have. [/red]
[#ff0000] The cost is $14.99+$ 3.95 shipping total of $18.94. Go to the Bass pro website and go the search box, type in telescopic flagpole and it will come up.I'm going to get another pole socket and just not wire it , I didn't think about my light socket being hot. DUH My bad, it does extend out to 48 inches.[/#ff0000]

Dan, read my post again, I said nothing about the pole, I'm asking about the cost of the flag plus S&H.
Here is a picture of the pole, it's hard to tell be the ad makes it sound like it has a light in it.

Alliedâ„¢ Telescopic Flagpole/Stern Light Combo

Use your stern light base during the day. Telescoping flagpole mounts into most 2-prong stern light bases. Telescoping feature raises the pole for maximum visibility. Perfect for dive, national and nautical flags.

Hey AFDan52,

That will look quite stylish on your watercraft when you get it all mounted and adorned with the "official BFT standard". Don't forget to also get a "skier in tow" and "skier down" flag for when you do that quick trolling for wipers on willard.

BTW - that sure is a fine looking Mac you got there in that avatar - nice photo too, if I might say so my own self.

[red] Hey there fishhound, gee, thanks for thjose very kind words LMAO. I was really glad that you guys got some nice shots. My son tried to get some good pictures but the sun was in the wrong place. [/red]
[#ff0000] I want to do that again, that was a fun day up at Bear Lake that day. Also did I detect a bit of Sarcasm about the Diver Down flag or Skier Down Flag? I don't care much about the Diver down , but the Skier down. Don't get get me going already on that Book.[/#ff0000]
[#ff0000] I am going to put up a Flag that shows my Attack Lures, LOL They will attact on Command, very obedient.[/#ff0000]

[#002850]For me and my boat flag, it will be a mounted piece of PVC for a holder and a dowell for the flag pole. Yea, a little cheep-o way of doing things but no one will be able to tell 50 feet away and it won't loosen up my light pole mount either.

Now, am I [cool] or what?[/#002850]

I guess thats a good deal for the flag, since there is no S&H. In your original post you said you have received your flag pole, in the picture and item description I posted it makes it look like it is a flag/light combo. So is there a light that is part of the pole?

I could be wrong and I guess I won't know until I try it but I would think the drag from a 11.5 x 20" flag would be very low. I like the idea of using the same pole that I use as my light, as a flag pole and if they make a flag/light pole combo, like the ad says then that is the way I'm going. Just my 2 cents worth but I was thinking the same way you are until I read Dan's post.

[red] The flagpole that I have does not have a light on it. I don't think it would be much trouble to make it that way if you wanted to. [/red]
[red] I am thinking of replacing the piece of plastic in the bottom of the flagpole with a piece of nylon or some plastic stock, maybe some solid kevlar.[/red]
