On your next trip try going inside the channel, fishing the east side humps. You may get a very pleasent surprise. Good luck.

I would like tot take by kick boat to Deercreek. Where would be a good place to fish. You mentioned the channel. I am not very familiar with DC and would love to have some advice on where to fish. Can you tell me where the channel is and what the east side bumps are? Thanks

That channel is the Wallsberg inlet to DC. You can get to it from the hiway or the main boat ramp. From the hiway its a bit of a hike packing a kick boat. But more than doable. The hump is an underwater hump from the natural lay of the land. The larger fish will ambush smaller prey as they swim past. They use the hump as cover. Hope this helps and good luck. Fishing is pretty good right now for trout and carp.

[cool][#0000ff]Lots of walleyes come out of Walsburg Bay. Most of them are taken along the rocky shorelines, with crankbaits or crawler rigs. Many of the walleyes are hooked by guys fishing plastics for smallies.[/#0000ff]

I personally have not caught any eyes in that location. I have seen them caught by others. But alass my eyes catching has been next to nothing for the last two years! I have picked a few up over by the island, but as I said my eyes fishing needs an overhaul.

There are humps all over DC but this one is on the north side of the inlet. If you have a sonar its easy to see on the graph. If not you can locate it by the lay of the land.
