SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS
#1
[cool]This compilation of fishing terminologies and slang is currently under development. It is a joint effort, soliciting contributions from all BFT members. However, the bulk of the work of reviewing, formatting and editing is being done by JapanRon and TubeDude.

It is okay to post your new terms and ideas as individual posts, but we would prefer that you simply email or PM them to one of the two guys mentioned above. We will edit out the posts as the terms are integrated into the "master list"

Some of the ground rules for getting your contributions included are:

(1) Do not include profanity or "inappropriate" terminologies...or even "shady" references. We do not want to offend anyone.

(2) Avoid any terms that include racial, ethnic or similar overtones.

(3) DO include the origin or regionality of the term wherever possible. Many folks find it interesting to learn and compare the different localology terminologies.

(4) Don't worry about spelling, grammar or punctuation. Do the best you can to simply provide the term and its general application or useage. The editors will shine it up.

We appreciate all submissions, but we do not plan to give credit for them to the contributors. Sorry.

Hello All,
In an effort to build on the the idea of creating a fishing words, terms, slangs and phrases directory we have started a new site that is 100% user controlled.

It is still under construction (i.e. the how to's and help sections etc..) but words can be edited and updated know.

We welcome everyone to drop by and take the site for a spin at http://www.fishingwords.com

YOU'RE THE MAN!!!!

Well the idea of the site is to have a Fishing Resource Encyclopedia/Dictionary with fishing related terms, words, slang words, etc... It is a site that any user can edit so the idea is to have everyone working together and contributing.

We are working on infostructure right now (things like the help sections, faq's etc...) and need experienced fisherman to start to make sure the standard phrases are entered and accurate. I believe there are roughly 2,000 words, terms, etc.. listed already.

If you (or anyone interested in participating) could start to see if all the terms you commonly used are there and edit and improve upon the definitions it would be a great help.

If you see something that isn't there then add it, and if you can improve on something that's there, edit it. The site has an editor discussion area so we can communicate bugs, flaws, wish list stuff, etc.. there. It really should be an amazing site as more and more quality folks get involved

We would like the site to be closer to a finished product before we start the major promotion.

[green]Hi there TA - I am not quite sure how the different parts of this program work. Wanted to add a term to the glossary but wasn't quite sure how to go about doing same. Also how about water terms i.e. Tail-Water, Eddy etc? [/green]
