That's a nice crappie, let her know I said "congrats!" I bet she's hooked now. What river are you on? It looks alot like the Pee Dee just based on how the bank looks.

I know the crappie fishing hasn't been as good this year as years past. I called the DNR not long ago and brought to thier attention this fact. They are actually working on improving crappie and striper populations alike as we speak, atleast in choice bodies of water like Santee Cooper.

How were you fishing for them? Where you using live minnows or jigs?

Thanks for sharing the picture! I've been meaning to post my pictures to my sunday fishing report since monday, LOL, and haven't gotten to do it yet. Maybe this afternoon I can get them posted. [cool]

we used live bait. was setting still and when I moved to a location a bit down the bank thats when it hit. used a float about 3ft down. this was on lake norman n.c. I did read your post about the santee and I hope things get better down there. I know people who go there for the cat's and bass. About a month ago it hit 80 degree or so and just before that it was good and cool. we got into some good fishing for crappie for about two weeks and when the temp got up everybody under the sun were out on ther boats. since then not to much on the crappie.
