My son (Scott) and I headed up to pineview this morning for our annual skunk trip for muskies. We did a little better but still didn't get any muskies into the boat. Scott had the first action. A big one (40"?) hit and then came flying out of the water about three feet. Then dove under the boat and wrapped the line around something kept the lure and kept going. A little later he had a couple of smaller ones follow the replacement lure up the boat. He claims the the lure the muskie kept was better and thats why the fish wouldn't hit.
About 20 minutes later it was my turn. I hooked two in about five casts. The first came off as Scott was reaching out to land it for me. The second came off just as it came into view next to the boat. They were both smaller (30"-).
The next fish that I hooked put up a lot more fight. I told Scott this has got to be a big one. But it turned into the Golden Bone.
We got blown off the lake about 1:00 after catching three smallmouth. One for Scott and two for me.
