Sunny Day Green R.
#1
Most of you probably know that a typical sunny, October day on "A" section of the Green is nothing to write home about, and it wasn't, but it was good enough. I launched shortly after 11 am, and floated 'till about 6:30. I saw only about 5 or 6 other boats and one pontoon all day. No bugs or hatch to speak of until about 4:30 pm, when a few BWO's started popping and brought a few fish up along current seams and the banks.

I fished dries all day (that's just what I do, period.) , and caught fish here and there on #18 sparsley-tied cdc midge adults, and #18 para-adams. Around a dozen or so. During the last hour and a half, I caught another 6-8 on the adams in the last mile of river, on the right bank.

So, not the Green of cloudy October days, or the Green of big-bug summer, but a nice day, not many floaters, and just enough fish looking up to keep things interesting. Sunny and 70. Low water (800-900ish). A bit windy at times too.

Thanks for the report. Sounds like a nice time out and any fish are almost a bonus. I always enjoy the warmer sunny days out this time of year even though the fishing tends to be slower than the cloudy days. It's a long time until it's summer again. I don't have any time to fish until next Thursday. With my luck it'll probably be snowing again[crazy].

Nice report Jim. I bet it weas nice just to get out and float for the day without having to man the trolling motor in 30 mph winds. [Tongue]
