The previous posts were from ATFISHING. He also has an ODC 420. I get to tube with him from time to time and really like his setup for the camera.
I will look up some of his back posts to find the pics of his set up.[cool]

Thanks for that link. It does look like a handy setup. I usually fish with just one rod so don't have a rod holder on the tube.
I was thinking that the monopod could be a ready-made solution. When not in use it would take up less room and with a swivel-mount for the camera it could be adjusted to suit fish size!

Well I think I may have got lucky. Seen a cheap monopod(€21) in a local shop and it looked ok for the job. Better still it came with a tilt and pan swivel head and a QD release for the camera.
Perfect! Or so I thought....if you check the pic you'll see I tried to attach it to the existing D-rings. As the pod is a little heavy, especially with camera attached it is hanging down too far at the front.
Would anyone know if you can attach extra D-rings to this tube? Was thinking maybe putting one on down near water level at the back would angle the pod upwards.
Another way could be putting a couple on top somewhere maybe alongside one of the pockets?

[cool][#0000ff]You can always run a bungee stretch cord to another D ring on the inside of your tube. Otherwise, it is simple to stitch on a nylon loop with a D ring...or glue one on with AquaSeal. A velcro strip might also help, depending upon exactly what you want to do with it.[/#0000ff]

You mean run a bungee and then wedge the pod underneath it? I was hoping for a more permanent solution; maybe the Aquaseal and new D-ring will be the way to go.
Just thinking where to get D-rings and nylon loops, etc. Maybe a camping shop?

D-rings are available in most places that sell camping/backpacking equipment.

Good Idea about using a wire tie for a D ring. Two suggestions I would have are to use a little super glue in the lock of the wire tie or the D ring can close up on you. And, instead of scissors use either a pair of electricians wire cutters or finger nail clippers to trim the tag end back before sanding.
