So has anyone been to Yuba in the last little while? We went down a few weeks ago and go skunked, but was wondering if anyone was having better luck lately. My dad and I are trying to decide whether to go there or up to Strawberry on Saturday. I would sure like to get into some walleye or even better, some northerns. What do you think, do you think the fishing has warmed up at all?

[cool][#0000ff]Good news...bad news. The good news is that the perch have moved shallower and there are some nice big ones being caught. The bad news is that the walleyes have been scarce. They are there, but not biting for most anglers . Lots of natural food makes for walleyes that are not as easy to catch.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Still some big pike being caught...mostly by the guys who know where and how to fish for them. As a general rule, if you find concentrations of perch you can find predators nearby. Look for points, rocks and brush in the water. That is what the pike use for ambush cover. Fish big cranks and plastics, with wire leaders. But, there are plenty of pike taken on smaller stuff being fished for perch and walleye too.[/#0000ff]
