I grabbed a bunch of dead scuplin in a near dry pool yesterday because I'd heard that you can catch some nice big browns fishing them at night. I've never tried that tecnique. I stuck them in the freezer so they're nice and cold. Can anyone give me some advice on how to rig them and fishing method. Thanks.

I haven't fished with a sculpin for years, but when I did, it was in the impoundments on the Logan river.
At the time, there was a hook called a sculpin hook, it was a two side by side hook arrangement, with a safety pin portion where the sculpin could be threaded on.
They were very good bait for large browns, but not very exciting fishing. cast them out, and wait for a long soak, until a fish found the bait.
Have tried only sculpin flies on moving water.

Sculpin are not listed as gamefish, so they can be used for bait.
From the 2008 Fishing Guide:
"Use or possession of bait in the form of fresh • or frozen fish or fish parts while fishing is unlawful, except as provided below:
...
Dead mountain sucker, white sucker, • Utah sucker, redside shiner, speckled dace, mottled sculpin, fat head minnow, Utah chub and common carp may be used as bait in any water where bait is permitted.

A sculpin is a small fish that grows only up to 6 or 7 inches long tops (usually more like 3-5 inches long) that have a wide head, are mottled brown, and live on the bottom of mountain streams. I've seen them in the Provo River downstream of the freeway, but they're all over. They are favorite brown trout munchies.

From the Utah Fishing Guide:

Here's a link to a picture and description of a mottled sculpin http://dwrcdc.nr.utah.gov/rsgis2/Search/Display.asp?FlNm=cottbair
Note that the rule says "mottled sculpin", not "bear lake sculpin" or any other sculpin.
My grandfather taught me how to catch big trout in southeastern Idaho using sculpin. We called them bullheads. We knew the local creeks that had sculpin and they always hung out under rocks in the shallow rocky sections of the creeks. We'd slowly roll rocks over peering under the edge as we rolled them. If there was a sculpin underneath we'd spear it with a simple dinner fork. After forking a mess of sculpin we'd go fishin' for big trout. We used Mustad 7904 double hook safety pin hooks. Here's a link to the hooks http://www.mustad.no/catalog/emea/product.php?id=1854
