[#004080]Hello guys and girls,

My name is Roxanne ( I preferred being called Roxy ) and I'm new to this forum. I'm currently 19 years old and residing in California. Fishing is completely new to me, but I have great interest in it so I'm willing to learn! Hope to get to know some of you.

Welcome to BFT Roxy, there are many different boards on the site, hopefully one will peak your interest. We have a lot of folk including moderators here that hail from California, so you are in good company. Hopefully one of them will be able to get you pointed in the right direction for some fishing. Have you been fishing before? WH2

[#008000][Image: happy.gif]Hi Roxy and welcome to the BFT. Living in SoCal is not the ideal location for fishing [except the salt] but there are several Pay & Play lakes around. At higher elevations there are several more places to fish. As MacFly mentioned head to the California forum & post any questions of concern.[/#008000]

[#004080]I went fishing once before. I caught a steelhead, which was pretty surprising. This was about 3 years ago.

fly fishing is a type of fishing.. and by type I mean what kind of rod and reel you use.. and whether you are using bait, lures, artificial flies to catch the fish..

Welcome, Roxy,

I'm very new here, but not new to fishing. But in the short time I've been here I've found everyone to be welcoming, knowledgeable, and, most important, willing to share teir knowledge.

So just jump right in with any questions. This is the place for answers.
