Hi, I was wondering if any of you have done that $75 gift card promo thing at Sportsman's. I guess you have to go somewhere and sit through a presentation of some sort (obviously selling timeshares or something) and you supposedly get a $75 gift card right there in the store when you sign up. Have any of you done this? How long is the presentation? Is it worth the hassle? How does it work? Any feedback would be great!

You get a $25 gift card on the spot then have to go listen to the timeshare presentation to get the other $50. The presentation was about 1.5 hours or so. The timeshare is for the Worldmark condos. It wasn't too bad (kind of boring) but the people were nice and weren't too pushy. Probably worth getting the $75.

I got hooked into that. It is timeshare with Windham. Next time I get approached with that I'm not going to try to say "no" nicely (there sales pitch will not let you be nice about it). If you want to get into time share, by all means go for it. Otherwise just go spend your own $75 and you will be better off.(by the way, no I didn't buy in to it)

I did it and I feel it was worth it. I was actually interested in learning more about time share opportunities although I knew that I didn't have the money to commit to one at this time. They try really hard to convince you that you can afford a time share and that you should do it so be prepared.
They try to sell you by explaining that there is a one-time offer that is only available the first-time you come and that if you decide to do it later, the remaining plan isn't very good. The funny thing is, how will they know if you come back again?? All they have is your written name - no social security number, no photo ID, Drivers License number.
So you have to drive to south SLC, listen to motivational speakers for about an hour or so, and then sit and be haggled by salespeople for another hour or so. As long as you are not a pushover and you can say no, you should be ok.

I got roped into the Camper World ripoff. Bought into a 5 parks plan for a couple thousand an $195 a year maintenance fee. Every year the maintenance fee has increased. In the four years I've owned my membership, it has doubled to $400. I think they try to run you off by increasing the maintenance fees. This year I said enough is enough and am going to just blow it off. They win...
