There aren't any fish in Willard. They all died off as soon as Obama took office... !!! LOL oh my gosh that if FUNNY!!!! LOL LMAO ,,, I can't stop laughing

(10 min later)

Okay, sorry I couldn't breath there for a min or two. Anyway, all I know about illard is that the water level was REAL low for the last couple years becasue of constrution on a dam, and now that they are done it will be filling up this spring, but it will most likly take a year or to for the fishing to pick up to where it was a few years ago, or so I have heard.

[cool][#0000bf]Even with the last two years of low water, Willard still has a lot of fish and a lot of good fishing. Caught lots of wipers and cats last year plus a few crappies and walleyes. And the size of the fish has improved over previous years.

The big problem right now is that the ice is about ready to break up, with the warmer weather and the rain, but it is still not open enough to fish from a boat or shore. Give it a month and there will be good early wiper fishing and prespawn walleye fishing.

Will you be fishing from shore or will you be afloat? That can make a big difference on where you can go and how you will be fishing. With the rising water and the lake getting back to "normal" this year there will be a lot more places to fish successfully without a boat.

[cool][#0000bf]Right now everything is messed up. Poor ice fishing in most spots and no open water for casting from shore. If you are a stream fisherman, and like trout, don't overlook the Ogden River between Pineview and Ogden. Some spots on the Weber can be good too, but they take some searching and learning.

Willard will be fishable from shore within a month. Right now you could fish off the bank in the open water at the North marina but can't guarantee a lot of action. Might be a few cold kitties, a wiper or a few crappies. But, some of the slowest fishing of the year.

A bit farther north you have Mantua Reservoir, in the canyon between Brigham City and Logan. A few minutes further to drive, but it can be fun fishing for bluegills, bass, perch and trout. Sometimes good from shore, but much better in the warmer months.

Other than that, you would need to look up the community fishing ponds in the Ogden area on the DWR website. There are several available. Most still have ice but will offer fishing for trout, cats and sunfish when the open up.
