Fish Lake 2-16
#1
Found out the auger blades were anything but sharp and took me almost a half a hour due to poor health to drill just two holes in the ice which was about a foot and a half thick. 30 ft of water was not what I was looking for but was going to have to do. Started catching perch right off the bat and even caught a Splake in the first 10 mins. After that all we caught were perch. Funny thing was that of the forty plus perch all but one came out of the same hole. Thirty two feet of water you couldn't hardly keep them off at times. The thirty foot hole right beside it basically as we were in a shack could barely buy a bite all day long. Also if your jig wasn't in the weeds they wouldn't take it.

Tispyder 13, was it windy! The forecast sunday night was calling for 11-16 mph winds w/ gusts between 27-38 mph. I do not have a ice tent, so I decided not to go. I hope I made the right decision!! Thanks for any info!

No not really. They were all between 8 and 10 inches. With most of them closer to 8. Also anything that looked fat and might have some meat turned out to be full of eggs. The bloated airsacks started pushing the eggs our after awhile.

Almost didn't go for the same weather reports. Around 8 it blew hard enough I anchored the tent but it still wasn't bad. It snowed off and on from 8 until about 9:30 I think and then it turned sunny the rest of the day. A breeze but nothing bad like they predicted. We were too hot in the hut so we opened the door to get more air in.

Sorry I know that isn't what you wanted to hear.[frown]
