Is there any good fishing in the Mona Res.? My friend is heading down there this weekend and was thinking about trying to fish it.

Some years it goes virtually dry. Nothing worth fishing for there.

Once, many years ago, and I mean like 25, my Dad went fishing there with a guy that grew up in Mona. Believe it or not, amongst the chubs and carp they caught, the first fish my Dad landed was a very nice trout. Over the years the DWR has tried to introduce varies things. I doubt many have worked. I would predict carp and maybe chubs.

June Suckers are in there as well. According to our states pioneers they taste really good[cool]

I grew up down there, and when I was a kid, the stream flowing into the res had good fishing for browns and walleye, but that was about 20 years ago, so things have probably changed pretty significantly

I fished it back when I was 10 we got mud cats trout and lots of carp and even a channel cat and blue gills, but that was 56 years ago...
