Salmon Falls
#1
Went to Salmon Falls on Saturday.
Launched at Grey's Landing 7:30AM, water temp 41, air 36. Water was pretty murky, at the upper end of the lake it was chocolate. Had some big rains up there on Thursday and Friday and the creek was extremely muddy flowing in. Headed back down towards Grey's to get out of the mud. Pulled bottom bouncers until about 2. Only had one hit and he wasn't trained very well as he din't hang on ling enough to get stuck. Dad and my son then decided they wanted to troll for some trout. Picked up 3, 12, 17.5, and 19 inches. my son lost one of the bigger range as well. I still haven't figured out those cold water wallies yet. Sorry no pics, it was windy, raining, and bitterly cold when we started catching the trout so just didn't feel like trying to get out the camera,.

Nice report, looks like I will wait awhile to fish it. The Walleyes are deeper in cold water.

Hang in there my friend. She'll warm up; she a fickle character. I call Salmon my home waters although I live in Utah. I fished there my whole life.

My brother went out last weekend and pulled 3 eyes in 13-18 feet of water on a jig. The ol' girl doesn't like to give up her treasures easily this early in the year, but they are out there. Patience, patience, and more patience.

I plan on heading up there this Thursday and I will be fishing there Friday. I'll let you know how I do.

Good luck, they should be getting active. I heard the water is warming slowly and muddy
