The NJ DEP Division of Fish and Wildlife's Skillful Angler Awards Program recognizes anglers who catch both freshwater and marine fish, which exceed a size threshold established for each species. In 2008, anglers submitted 168 applications representing 25 different species.
In addition to recognizing every skillful angler with a certificate documenting their catch, special recognition is given to the Adult, Junior, and Catch and Release anglers who catch the largest fish of each species. The list of winners has been posted on the division's website.
