Jmax, Chick, Bass, 06/18/09, solo, 1st hour skunked, 2nd hour hit the mother load.

Went out this evening for a couple hours. I was kind of scouting for this weekend. After reading the frog grass post we had on here I headed for some grass pockets. I don't know what I was doing wrong but I stunk it up. Not a bite, notta, not even a smell....zeroed. I tried for an hour and decided that was not for me.<br /><br />I headed out to what I do best this time of year. Legdes and edges on the ol'river channel. Where I wanted to start as I got close I realized there was a boat right on top of it. I swung off of it and headed for the first drop I saw on my depth finder. I hit an underwater rock pile I have never fished before and saw fish all over it. Stopped, got out the drop shot and preceeded to get about 20 hits in a row. emoEek I either missed one, lost one or caught one for the first 20 casts. emoWorthy They were stacked there. I am not sure who that was on the spot I wanted to go to but if I knew I would thank them. emoBig I caught about 25 to 30 bass there in an hour. emoToast The top of the drop was 23 feet and the bottom was 38 feet that I was fishing. Cast up on the 23 and shake the drop shot down to the 38. Most strikes I did not feel, they would just load up on it. I had to leave so only got in the two hours. emoThumbsup <br /><br />Lot of fun that one hour after getting skunked the first one. In the grass the temp was 87 and on the river it was 83.
