I didn't feel like getting up at 5:00 AM to topwater fish for bass today, so I slept in until almost 7:00. Read the paper, had a cup of coffee, piece of toast, and decided to go bass fishing again. I changed locations and fished from 9:30 til 11:00 AM. I hooked up 15 bass, landed 13, had what felt like a good fish pull off after about 5-10 seconds, and had one wrap up around some cover and I had to break it off. I could feel the fish, but he hung it up in cover pretty good, so my little 6 lb test line couldn't stand too much. My lures of choice today was a 4" Berkley power worm in 3 different colors (caught fish on all colors), fished on a 1/8oz jighead. The fish today did not want to turn the powerworm loose. They grabbed onto it and held on for dear life. Only 2 spotted bass out of the 13 that I landed and the rest were largemouth.

I was fishing deep water and letting the jig sink about 14 seconds and then jigging it back to the boat. The fish would just latch on and not let go. Nothing big today and only took about 4 pics. Didn't even take pics of the larger fish either. One little spot that I caught puked up a big lizard at the boat and another large curly tail off a worm. He must have been hungry. emoBig I retrieved a new Bill Dance spitting image that someone had lost. I'll add it to my topwater box.

Water temp was 82.5 at 9:30 and 83.6 at 11:00 when I stopped. About 10 minutes before I quit fishing, the wind whipped up from the north and about 10 minutes later as I was putting the boat on the trailer, it had already switched to the SW and gusting a little bit. I picked a good time to quit. My shirt was already soaked from sweat. emoBig emoGeezer
