Trout in the Classroom Training Sessions for Teachers Offered
#1
The NJDEP Division of Fish and Wildlife will be holding two training sessions for teachers interested in learning about the Trout in the Classroom program. The sessions will be held at the Pequest Trout Hatchery and Natural Resource Education Center in Oxford on September 10 and 17, beginning at 5:30 PM.

The Trout in the Classroom Program (TIC) is a supplementary educational activity supported by the Division of Fish and Wildlife and the State Council of Trout Unlimited. It is a hands-on, science-based program where students learn about natural resource issues as they participate in the actual process of raising trout in their classroom.

The training sessions will provide teachers background information on how the program works, what to expect from the program, and different means of trouble shooting issues with raising trout should they arise. Teachers will also learn how to adapt the TIC program for different curriculum levels.

If you would like to register for either of these training sessions, please contact Jessica Griglak at 908-637-4125 or by e-mail at Jessica.Griglak@dep.state.nj.us.
