If i were you i take your grandson fishing with you. If can catch a couple of nice ones like the one in the picture you are in business.

Im going to erie this weekend ad it looks like we are gonna get the overcast we need Smile The rain sux but ill take it. Right now they are calling for 18mph south winds for saturday up there, so we should be good to go. If those winds turn northeast im staying on shore. That lake can get crazy in the blink of an eye when the winds are blowing that way. I will start a new post with some pics and maybe even a video if i get any fish.

Good luck this weekend jeff, hopefully you wont need it, but if your luck runs like mine you will Smile

Glad to hear you did well, did you make the top 25? It really sux loosing fish that you know are good ones. Its a real kick in the gut. But hey thats fishing.

Well by the look of things even if you don't win you should have a good time catching some decent fish. This is one of the best times to get some big bass. They are all hungry and if you find the fish 9 out of 10 times you are gonna get into em.

Not this weekend but next on the 17th we are gonna make a run up to erie for some largemouth. Hopefully they will still be holding on that drop off where i was catching them the other week. That way i would not need to do to much running around when i get there. So if you are not doing anything on the 17th let me know and we could meet up somewhere and u could follow us up. Right now we got 2 boats going up. They way i figure, the more boats we got the less time anyone of us needs to be running around looking for fish. I am gonna keep an eye on the weather though, cause this time of year can be crazy up there. Don't wanna look like the guys from Deadliest Catch out there lol.

Good to hear sounds like you had a good time just like i predicted lol.

The trip is still on this saturday for Erie but if the weather turns out to be to bad (High Winds) we r going to go to Lake Wilhelm instead. That place is supposed to be a real nice place for bass that is not pressured as much as other lakes in that part of the state. We will see. Never fished it but been wanting to for years, but Erie is still my first pick! I will keep you guys posted on where i go and how i do.

Well so far the weather seems to be working in my favor up there. They are calling for 1 to 3 footers and a 30% chance of rain with a total rainfall of less than a tenth of an inch. Partly cloudy with some sunshine peeking out with 5mph winds with 14mph gusts and a nice warm high of 43 F. Dont look to bad so i think we will be fishing Erie saturday! Dont worry i will be careful, not out to get killed or sink the boat. Just wanna get some nice fish! [Smile]

Will I did get out on the river this past sunday after 4 days of rain . The water temp droped to 47d we did manage to catch 4 smallies and 1 nice walleye and I caught the walleye on a big thumper spinnerbait. The smallies we caught on jerkbaits. So it wasent a wast of a day on the water . The weather is going to warm up this week so next weekend should be good to go .

We Got Skunked!! I think the water was to cold for them at 42. We talked to the other guys that were out and they had the same story we did, not even a bump. We really fished hard and we had no luck at all. If there would be smallies in the bay at this time of the year i think it would have been a different story but they are all gone. I did find some nice spots while i was up there. Kinda excited for next season to try them out. Im sure they will produce. Its now hunting season and i may only get out one or 2 more times before i put the boat away. Always hate to put the boat away but i know april is only a few months away and the big pike will be all fired up!

I guess 42d water temp would shut the largmouth down . That makes for a tuff day. At least you found some new spots to fish for next year thats always a plus. and theres always next time . Im going to get out this coming weekend on sun and ill let ya know how i do . Take care BigpikeGuy titelines and wet nets
