drumking, chickamauga, Crappie and bass, 10/02/09, Hal
#1
Hal and I had another great day today, even though it rained on us for the first couple of hours. The rain soon passed over and the rest of our outing was just fine. We caught a mixed bag today and from some different docks than I have been fishing this week. We have about wore the fish out this week, so we gave most of them a big break and fished different places. We ended up the day by fishing a bluff and I usually don't fish bluffs until the water gets a little bit cooler, but the fish were there, but the bite was slow on the bluff.

Hal is having another fish fry for his welding students, so we kept 2 limits of crappie for him along with 5 spotted bass, and 1 bluecat that was in the neighborhood of 4-5 lbs. (Guess)

I fished slab slayers early, then switched to panfish assassins and finished up with BG shads. Mostly 1/32 oz jigheads with the plastic trailers that were glued on to extend the life of the plastic. We launched the boat around 7:30 and quit fishing at 2:15. We landed 82 crappie. We were culling 11" fish early on. The rain started just about the time that we reached our first dock, so after donning rainsuits, we landed 20 crappie by 8:00 AM. We had 34 on that first dock. Then we moved around to different places. Fish were very shallow for the first 45 minutes, then we had to go deep to catch the rest. By deep, I mean over 10' deep.

Notice that I didn't block out the background on any pics today. No secrets, huh? emoBigSmile emoGeezer
