Dryrod,
I caught those fish in 22 feet of water vertical jigging blade baits. In the spring you could actually use that fly rod to pull crappies in out of the shallows. Most will be 7 to 9 inch but there's always a chance at some 14 to 16 inchers as they actively roam about the skinny water before the spawn.
