FIsh Lake 1/17 - 1/18
#1
Went on an overnight fishing trip with widastick, cdragon, a brother, and two of their sons. First time ice fishing Fish Lake for all of us. We got there and around 6:00pm on Sunday and set up on the southeast side of the lake. Started deep (60-80ft) and didn't catch much. Moved closer to the shore (20-30ft) and started catching some rainbows and splake until about 2:00am. Got a couple hours sleep, woke up, and killed them in the morning. Caught some bows, splake, and perch. Couldn't seem to hook up with any lake trout. Kind of a bummer since that is what we were most excited about catching. We left about 2:00pm on Monday. Altogether, we had a great time and probably caught over 100 fish. Most of the trout between 14-16, with a few about 18-19.

Ice was 18 inches or so. I had my 4-wheeler and there were several others out there as well.

Watch out for the pressure ridges. It's been quite warm down here the past week. If a ridge pops, it's gonna be a while before it freezes back up, especially with the storms we're getting now putting a fresh layer of insulation on the ice.

I saw a wheeler and 4 prople go in near Joe Bush last year under similar circumstances. It was with 12" of ice.
