Went to Fish Lake this morning with my nephew, who is visiting from out of town. We fished out from Lakeside over deep water and found splake and rainbows suspended at 25'. Using white jigs with perchmeat and perch/mealworm combo. It wasn't wide open, but we managed limits with a bunch of throwbacks.
In the afternoon, we went into the weeds to try for some of the bigger perch that have been showing this year but they were not to be. Just dinks. I went to ride the wheeler over toward a cluster of anglers who were out front of the Lodge to see if the bigger perch were around but ran into the slush monster. I sank my wheeler to the axles. Took about 20 minutes to kick slush/ice out from under it and drag it around. Once pointed in the right direction, it bit and I gassed on it and didn't let up until I got back to dry snow. That was my first experience with slush. Wow, that stuff sucks! Filled my boots up with water too!
Thanks Fuzzy for your advice that helped out greatly. I appreciate your time!
Sorry, no pic's. We both forgot our cameras!
