HB 141 update
#1
HB 141 passed the senate today with some changes. It's now back to the House for a quick vote that will pass, and then on to the governor.

If the gov signs it, we lose our rights. Pretty crappy deal.

The best we can do now is to call AND write Governor Herbert and ask him not to sign the Bill. Here are his phone numbers: 801-538-1000, 800-705-2464, and a link to his feedback form:

Do this today. He could sign it at any time. Remember to be polite. The court ruling stands until he signs the bill.

You can see how the bill progressed, who voted and how they voted here:

Click on the vote numbers to the right of the page to see how the vote went.

Might want to take a look at who voted for what before you decide to vote a straight party ticket.

Senate Vote:

Final House Vote:
http://le.utah.gov/~2010/status/hbillsta...2.002h.txt

Some democrats sold out at the last minute, some republicans came over to our side at the last moment. This was not a party line issue by any means.

You are right, maybe a little extreme to go total...but a partial is definitely in.[Wink]

Hey,
My 2representives were split on this bill. Karen Mayne voted against this bill and I sent her an Email thanking her for her support, and that she can count on continued support from me. Erick Hutchings voted for this bill and I sent him an Email to notify him that not only will I not vote for him, but I will donate my money and my time to whoever is running against him.

Well I just emailed the Gov and hopes he responds. I found that my Rep voted no for 141 and yes for 80. My senator voted yes for 141. I know who will get my votes and who won't this next time around. Lets hope the governor will do the right thing and veto this piece of ugly legislation.

KSL reported this morning that Gov. Herbert is struggling with the decision over Stream Access Bill HB 141.

see http://www.ksl.com/?nid=148&sid=10155232

Let's get the word out that a phone call to Gov. Herbert asking him to VETO this bill might do some good. We only have a few days to make a difference.

His phone numbers:
801-538-1000
800-705-2464

His email address:

Leaky I don't know which is best. I sent a Email also mentioned the dam government through UDOT has closed down the Weber From Riverdale to Morgan with their fence.

I don't think you will get much sympathy from the governor on the fence along I-84. The fence was installed to meet Federal regulations or the state lost millions in highway funding. It is a federal issue - not state.

We have just a slim chance but we need everyone and everyone you know to ask the Governer to VETO HB141. I realize the deck is stacked against us free thinking fishers but keep calls and e-mails flooding the Govs office.

Never give up.
