Well. It looks like i'm leaving Monday Morning ... for Afghanistan.
This is a serious problem! we need fishing there!
I will be gone for 1 year and the US Army is calling my name.
As of Wednesday 1:30pm I was informed that I am leaving monday.
I just would like to say thanks for the great stories, pictures and posts I have enjoyed.
I will keep you all informed through email and this site.
Take a kid fishing this year and dedicate the big ones to me! Good luck and be safe out there on the water!

Sorry to see you go. My brother in law is in Iraq, and he's been to Afghanistan also, spent 6 months there. Got out then has spent all his current tour in Iraq and related countries since the beginning of the latest Gulf war. Take care, pack a fishing pole for security, and keep in touch with BFT as you can.

Good luck and thanks for all your help. You taught me and my son about tubes last Jan at a tournament. I really appreciate the time you took for us. Be careful over there. Thanks for your service.

Sorry to hear you are leaving us. But I am proud of all the troops over there and am glad that there are people like you to help keep us safe. Keep you head down and check in with us now and again to let us know what the fishing is like over there. When I take my grandkids fishing I will remember that it is our freedom that makes alot of that possible.

Be careful and try to check in every now and then. Kick some turban-head-terrorist-Osama butt.

Don't be too discouraged about fishing. Afghanistan has some excellent trout fishing! Brown trout are abundant in the mountains. The big problem is I don't believe there is much for fisheries (or water) management. But, if I was in your shoes, I for sure wouldn't leave the fly rod at home!
