Anybody been to Manning Meadows or Barney this year?

Yeah, I was up there about a month and a half ago, just before Manning Meadow opened up. We fish Barney and it was low. I caught 2 small tigers on a black/gold panther martin spinner. There were lots of big bulls around to add some excitement. We ended up dropping in on Antimony Creek, and drilled the fish there.

My buddy was up scouting deer a few weeks ago and camped at Manning. None of their crew caught fish but he said he saw one guy that did catch about a 3 lb cutt. Not bad, but I guess he put in some time. So there you go, enjoy! Ryno

I made a trip up there about 3 weeks ago and it was a fairly slow trip. Compared to last year it was terrible. I don't know why it was so slow. I only caught 3 fish in 2.5 hrs. They were on either a joes hopper or on a small brown jig. Both of those patterns were very effective last year. I also used bright orange marabou jigs with lots of flash last year and caught a lot of fish. The best part of the trip was the trip up, I went up the Dry Creek road (Marysvale) and saw 8 good bucks and a nice 6 pt bull. When are you headed?
