I purchased 2 lines from Corltand there 555 to replace and older 444. The 444 is only about 2 years old and its already cracking I thought well I use the 444 for winter and the 555 for summer extending the life of both lines. NOT
Its only been what 6 or 7 months and the line is starting to sink.
I take good care of my lines cleaning them and wiping Loon line speed on them. Is anybody else fed up with Cortland ?

The Only Cortland I own is the Clear Camo Intermediate, but I have heard allot of dislike to the 555.
SA Sharkskin or Rio is my choice for floating. I also don't have any complaint with Ridgeline except it has a bit of memory.

I bought the Cortland Precision Dyna-Tip, High Floating Tip this year and so far I really like it.
I haven't tried the Sharkskin or Rio's but Im sure they are good because I really haven't heard much bad about them.
I use a bit of Armor All on my lines. Just spray some on a rag and then pull the line through it. Works great.

I don't think Armor All is a good choice. If you Google it up you will see that about 85% agree with me.
Plus the film it can leave in the water is not Bio.
But, it's your line[cool]

I certainly wouldn't question your knowledge flygoddess, I'm sure you have forgotten more about fly fishing than I will ever know.
But it was the Cortland Rep that told me Armor All worked good on the line. Could have been that it was just that particular line or he wanted me to buy more.

As I said, it is your line. Funny you picked this post to say the Cortland rep told you this...[laugh][laugh]
