House bill 141 and the new bass regs are they the best for us fisherman???

Should we fight for both or you fight for only the one you like???

Should we as fisherman stand together or????

This is why they can do what they want, good or bad???

I am not a fly fisherman and the result of HB 141 does not directly affect my fishing opportunities. But I do have a strong opinion about the matter. There are many underlying consequences that will come about with passing 141. The increase of our fishing licenses is one of many chain reactions you will see for months/years to come from this decision. This will not only affect fishermen, but also all sportsmen in general. Hunters in this state have been fighting the public, private, school lands, CWMU, and big money for years. HB 141 only gave the big money and land owners more fire power and made public land more subject closure and limitations.

As for standing together? We have no other choice but to stand together as sportsmen alike.

This is not just Fly Fishing. It is ALL or rather NO FISHING on river ways that are constitutional right.
I see more spinners on the stretches I use than fly fishing.
The thing is, they have no legal right to this and some of the parties responsible are already gone. We just need to keep up the fight unfortunately, and be generous with the donations.
They took even more away from us this last time, yet Herbert is still with us. I do hope more get involved with OUR rights. Or this could just be another stepping stone to taking more away from us the people.

Cliff,

The bill, HB 141 passed in the last session, was signed into law by Govenor Herbert and went into effect May 2010.
A task force was set up as part of the Senate comprimise in passing the bill to study the efects and try to work out a way to regain some of the public access to private waters. What they came up with was to buy fishing rights from land owners in the same type of program as hunters have with their "Walk in Access" lands.
This access will be paid for by raising license costs to all anglers.

As for the new Bass regulations, launching should still be good on the 1st of January at Jordenelle, wanna go?

The bill 141 is not going to help out any fisherman, but the bill will make money for the state and land owners is all...
I just can't see why we should pay for what the courts gave us again...

It is talking about another storm coming in on Friday and Saturday so I will watch and see but if no storm I may be their..
