Anybody seen any bull elk in 60 or 60a?

As of the first of November my bull elk hunt in 60-2 has begun. I was wondering if anybody has seen any elk up in 60 or 60a? If you have, could you give me a heads up? Thanks!

Elk will move out of the county in a matter of days, they have no problems with moving miles everyday just for food and water. The key is just like chrome said, just get out there, put in the miles (on foot!), and keep the binos to your eyes. If you're out there enough and hunt smart, you're bound to run into a few groups. Elk hunting is a sport where you can go from zero to hero in a matter of seconds.

Ya you can use it, i cant take credit though. My uncle who has shot more elk that I ever will told that to me, i guess his track record gives him very good credentials. It was true for me last year though, we were just moving through some trees and my dad spotted a 5x5 bull only 80 yards away that I had totally not seen, in literally only a matter seconds i had a bullet in his shoulder and the real work began. Good luck tob! You'll find em, just get out there! Until it gets cold, get as high as your hunt allows and in as much timber as you can to find those elk, put on your walkin boots.

That is a good quote. I met a hunter on a ridge while I was elk hunting, and after I told him about how we worked hard to find elk, and then how it took my dad and I two days to pack out my dad's bull, he replied,
"Yeah, I'd rather be lucky than good at this sport anyday." I thought that was a good one too. I know there's elk in 60 or 60A. Glass any ag fields at first light. I know there's gotta be some alfalfa fields to glass in that area. Still, it's a tough area, and big. If you see a spike, I'd pull the trigger. [signature]

Luck seems to have came my way and I may have missed a once in a lifetime chance to nail a trophy...hopefully I can find a nice bull.
On Thursday evening we were driving around in my area around Island Park right before sunset and we take a turn...we go a couple of hundred yards and then my buddy was like "holy sh&* there's an elk right there"! I looked over and all I seen was antlers!!! This bull was pushing 350. Then he takes off into the woods. Then all of a sudden 2 more monster bulls follow him. One was about the same size at 350 and the last one was pushing 375. His antlers went almost to his butt! Everything happened so fast, I attempted to jump out of the truck but the door was locked...it felt like it took ten minutes to get out of the truck. Once I did get out I didn't have a shot on the first one and I couldn't see the other 2 down on the ground because a little hill was covering them, and I could only see them from the truck. We went after them but there was only about 20 minutes of daylight left so you know the story. I'm sure those bulls are long gone now, but it does give me hope that there are some monsters up there! There is suppost to be some snow next week that should help . Have you tried Biship Mountian . You can park at some of the green gates and walk in on the closed forest service roads . A freind was hunting in there during the Spike hunt and said there is a lot of activity in that area . Good Luck .Curt G.

Well you should be able to get a great Bull Now . There was 24" of Snow at Shotgun Store yesterday and still Snowing . The Elk should be headed for the Desert . Curt G.

best thing i can tell you is hoof it! beat some feet man find fresh elk track and get on them you will have better odds of sneaking up on one by walking in quietly then you do running one down with a sled. all the fresh snow will help you stay quiet.

If you have a 4X4 you should be able to drive out Sand Creek road and all through the desert and find a good bull . Curt G.
