Strawberry--Chicken Creek Reports?

Anyone been to Strawberry Chicken Creek area? Thought about going up tomorrow, but wanted to see how the ice conditions and fishing have been.. Any Slush with the warm snap?

My son and I were up there on the 3rd. Look for my post about chicken creek. We did well but had to move around to find them. Ice was fine then.

We went up to the Ladders and fished between 15-22' feet and got skunked! First time in a long time. The wind was howling and there was 1-2" of water on the ice! We moved around a bit, but with the wind and 2 young kids, we just couldn't move around enough to find them. I spoke to a few others that caught a few, but it was slow and usually about 25-30'. I bet I only saw 3 fish on the fishfinder all day...weird. They were definitely NOT where we were.

Oh well, I guess that's why they call it fishing... Just makes me more anxious for the next trip to redeem myself!

Hit Soldier Creek side on sat. Got into alot of bows(lot of hits, hard to hook) you could look down the hole and see multiple fish come in to investigate and turn away fast. Iced 6 bows and 5 slot-throats[] in about 3 hours. Ice was good for the most part, did find a couple slush pockets on the sleds.
