Well im posting this post in hopes that it gets to the right person(s). Was just at East Canyon a few hours ago with my buddy and his two young sons fishing in the Dixie Hallow area. Due to this weather we've been having, the edges have become soft/weak. I brought a wooden plank for assistance on/off the ice especially for the kids... BUT APPARENTLY we have a JACKASS out there who thinks its funny to move the board from where it was fine and dandy, not in the way and could be walked around if someone oh so thought it was in their tender little way.... and toss it off the side INTO the soft slushy weakened edge... I dont know if the Donkeys Ass is a BFT'r or not.. But i can only hope not. If you are.. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE,and YOU KNOW WHO WE ARE. I am in disgust of the sportsmanship this person(s) have. I hope one day you find yourself in a situation where you scratch your head and think to yourself.."gosh i sure wish someone had a plank here".. If this is a BFT'r I challenge you to PM me and try to explain your "special kind of stupid" disease.. I am appalled at the maturity level you possess.

Pssst - I'll bet it's a lurker. You can probably find the trash and used diapers (#2) that he left also.
Seriously - sorry to hear it. Way - not cool! If you didn't put it down, don't pick it up - unless it's trash that is.
Hope the younglings made it off ok. Guess this warm weather is making for some iffy edges.

Thanks Coyote...i apprecite it..yeah the kiddies made it off ok...i on the other hand had one shin wetter then the other..lol but its warm and dry now.. I'm with ya on the keeping ya's paws off something that ain't ther other persons things.

Im headed out to EC tomorrow....How long of a plank should I tote out? I have a little 5 footer but can run over to Home Depot tonight and grab a little longer one if need be.
Also what were the ice conditions? Thickness..slush...any info would be much appreciated.
I'm game to wrestle that turd down an ice hole too! Always gotta be some around I guess.

You should be good with the 5ftr.. We had put our plank down on top of a little snow type bridge to add support... But other than that the ice about 8" where we were at. We were in the middle @ 30ft. No snow on top of ice but was about 2" of water from all the rain.. It looks a little spooky all in all but its safe...waxies and powerbait. Good luck and keep an eye on ur plank..lol

That sucks I cant stand people like that we went to causey earlier this year and someone did the same thing my fishing partners all took a dip in the lake and we had to leave because it was not worth sitting on the ice freezing and not enjoying what we were there for. but yeah that is bs for people that think that is funny especially when kids are involved.

Blame it on HUMAN NATURE !!!! Lesson learned by many... Learned that back @ PV few yrs back now I put my planks down let my group get on and loadem up in my sled dont give a rats a$$ bout the rest if they were really thinkin bout accessin crappy ice than theyd of brought theyz own..Not bein selfish-- thinkin bout todays world and how most arent gratefull for some planks that they didnt take the time to put down to access on..[shocked]

It was probably the same guys that left PILES of trash next to their ice holes at Rockport on Saturday... coffee cups, worm cartons, food wrappers, beer cans, etc. There are some real winners out there that give the sport full of otherwise good people a black eye.

Right on! Thanks for the feedback. I'll have to make a little live well from the rain water for the fish!
Maybe we should start taking steel planks...attatch a battery to it and shock the livin tar out of anyone that trys to pick it up!

Fished EC yesterday MLK until 1:30 The plank was still there. We used it. Thanks for putting it down for people. I am to old and fat to jump anymore. The water was 34 degrees and there was about three inches of water on top. A first for me at EC. The fish were hitting green paddle bugs tipped with green powerbait. We were fishing eight turns up from the bottom. And make sure you use a flasher. We had no bites until we put a flasher on. Then it was non stop. We were in 35 feet of water. A lot of small trout.
