I am new to the area, but have done quite a bit of striper fishing at Lake Powell and have never heard of these "sliders". Where can one go to purchase some of these? A local Bait N Tackle or Bass Pro? Is this what everyone uses at Mead for stripers? Any other favorite baits? I plan on going out to the lake next weekend and wouldnt mind tackling some Stripers if possible. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

i actually never used them b4 this will be the first time. but one of our other members nails em all the time on them which inspired me to purchase one. i got mine on ebay for 5.99 shipped. but 4pound said they sell them @ laker plaza localy but i'm not 100% sure where it is i think its on the way to the lake from henderson, bass pro don't have them and i have never seen them anywhere else.

Megabait makes the slider now. They work. I guess...

BigE fishes the old school sliders that Little Anthony doesn't make anymore.

I have a VERY limited supply of them.

$100 a piece

Got any that look like Gizzard Shad?

NOTE:

March is the last month and final stocking of the Trout at Mead..............for ever.

There is no plan to continue the stocking of Trout.
No Trout will be stocked from Willow Beach hatchery.

(NSC Tourny report coming soon, the big fish had eaten Trout)

[cool]I have used the old style made by megabait as well as the original Little Anthony. I use the new megabait version now. It has the jighead sealed in the body. It seems to catch them when others won't.

Tackle warehouse is the ONLY place I buy baits and tackle if I'm not driving to Bass Pro.

They have everything you could ever ask for, with very reasonable shipping charges.

i could definetly get into trouble at that website lol.. thanx for postin it lol[cool]

my personal tackle review on the megabait l.a. slider,

#1.they work. nailed my biggest striper in 5 casts the first time using it.

#2 easy to fish

#3 runs true at any speed retrieve i.e. no rolling, no flopping, no uneven wobbling

#4 casts a mile (with a 9 ft med heavy rod and baitcasting reel)

cons
#1 the eyes are painted on and now they are gone need to paint more eyes on.

#2 i only have one and need more lol

anyone else wanna chime in on this and input thier own info? thnx

[cool] Never tried the la slider but it seems like most other swimbaits on the market the only thing that stands out is it won best lure ICAST04.

I'm not bashing them or anybody that uses them just my observation same goes for the AC plug fanatics. Kinda like designer jeans its a "brand thing" but in the end there still jeans.

I've done some research on the slider cant even find a reliable resource to buy them. Some websites say out of stock/discontinued or sell limited specific colors and sizes like ebay. Laker Plaza advertises them but cant seem to find them must have to ask the grump behind the counter.

From what I gather they used to be the hottest lure around as time went on they kinda faded with time old schoolers like bigE still catch honkers on them so they obviously work.

Personally I like the berkley swim shad swimbaits maybe thats just the cheap a$$ in me but caught some nice stripers on the 6'' go down to the 2" to have fun with dinks. They offer dif colors n sizes, easy obtainable there cheap and best of all they work.

Just my 2 cents [Wink]
