Hello all,
anybody know of a good fishing guide on Jordanelle. My brother is coming to town and I'd like to take him out to Jordanelle to do some fishing, but I don't know the lake that well! Any info you can send my way is appreciated.

When are you wanting to go fishing and what do you want to catch?

Looking to fish for bass. Both smallmouth and largemouth. The tough part about it is the timing. He's thinking about coming out during the holiday at the end of the month. Do you have any idea how busy jordanelle gets during that weekend? I know most people cringe at the thought of competing with the powersquadron and pretty much figure its better during the week!

Things may start turning on for the bass around then but the weather has not been pleasant and runoff is going to cause havoc this year on water temps. so you may not see the water skiers but you can bet that they will still be out in their boats cruising around with the speakers on ground and pound. There are other lakes that might be worth the trip like Utah Lake, maybe Starvation or a couple others I can think of. Jordanelle won't be 'reliable' until mid-June, my opinion.
I know where I'll be and it won't be Jordanelle on the first holiday of the boating season...

Just go early and plan on leaving the about noon. Runoff is always a factor. By about June 1st the Lake will be full, and debris will be everywhere. Beds will be 15 feet under water. Sat/Sun will be heavy, but skiers are usually late sleepers. Prepare to fish in 15-25 feet. The weather has been bad on Memorial Day for the last 5 years(wind or rain).

Thanks for all the info...I'll just have to weigh my options and roll the dice! Maybe I'll just have to convince him to push out the visit!

Take my advice. DO NOT GO ON MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEKND! The worst day ever. They allow I think 200 boats and everyone else waits in line. Been there-done that.
