Gluttons For Punishment
#1
[#ff0000]Tried Porcupine again yesterday. Went with porta-bote and his porta-bote. Couldn't get close to the water in his car so came back and got the truck. Sat around for a while for the rain/sleet/snow to stop, saw a break in the weather and went for it. Had to pave a path with rocks and old boards to breech the mud to get to the water. Trolled around for a few hours with nada. Very few fish on the finder, the ones we did see were small at 31 feet. Any ideas what happened up there? It's always been a kick in the past. That porta-bote is kind of a fun little float toy. Thanks for the trip (even if you did eat both of the grilled chickens!)[/#ff0000]

Sounds like a rough day on the water. Porcupine has been off this year. Maybe someone could drop Tom Pettingill a line and see what his thoughts are about Porcupine. It was supposedly overrun with Kokes, so they raised the limit. But I haven't heard any good reports out of there this year. Someone said a beaver built a dam in the inlet last year, but I doubt that would affect the fishery this year.
