Drove out to Newton to check out the carnage. Like fishnate has reported, hundreds of dead fish, but not too many big ones besides a couple large catfish. Threw some senkos for a while with nothing, then put a masquito behind a bobber and caught 5"-6" crappie on nearly every cast but no size anywhere close to what we were getting earlier in the summer. The mosquitos there are almost as big as the crappie and the stench is terrible. I don't think I will go back this year unless muskies start to roll.

I threw a castmaster and an orange rapala maybe 30 casts but no hits. I only saw a couple dead bass on the shore--walked most of the East shorline-I wonder where they all are.
