I have never had the opportunity to fish the Berry during ice off, so I grabbed my daughter and decided to try it out. We first went to the SC side and found all the open water, so we decided to head over by Renegade. We were fishing by 11:30 and I was using a Lucky Craft and my daughter a Rapala. I was doing very well and landed 8-10 decent Cutties and a couple of small Rainbows. My daughter was having some trouble casting when I heard her scream and was relieved to see her poll bent. She landed one of the pertiest cutts I've seen in a while.

We continued walking the bank and landed around 16-17, we then decided to eat lunch and floated some worms. Needless to say we never got to eat our lunch as we landed an additional 6-7 fish. It was a great day with my daughter and a great time experiencing the Berry ice off.

I think you'll be fine getting a small boat on renegade by this weekend. There were a couple of toons on there on Sunday. I also saw a huge change from last Wendsday to Sunday. Good luck out there.

Shaner, i might as well start throwing $15 into the lake. We had fun and she did great learning how to cast. She only lost two Rapalas.

Danny-
That's a gorgeous fish your daughter is holding. Sounds like you guys had a great time and hit the ice off at the right time! Next year, we'll have to hook up and get after the Strawberry ice off.

I don't remember the names of the colors but the one that was the hottest had blue on the back and silver sides. You can see them in two of the attached photos.
