For me, sleeping at CJ this time of year is brutal.

Very hot, even at night....keep tyour tent flap closed at all times. It only takes one of those monstor mosquito's in your tent to keep you up all night.

And if you are a light sleeper, bring ear plugs because the insect noise at night is deafening.....in fact awesome!

That being said, I love that place and night fishing there can be fun!

stay down in the grass at the bridge that crosses the river below the dam. dont think they charge and you can drive on the grass. probably have to get there early to save a spot...

For tent camping, it depends on if you want to leave you boat in the water... the winds can/will get brutal! There's the cove campgraound with improvements also. Even if you can't get a dock, it's protectected alot more in there. I think it's an Idaho Power campground and they charge.
It's East of the resort/FULL BAR... but before the narows. Between the Bar and the Cove campground there's some free spots by the water. You can ask at the bar how far there "fee" camping goes to the east. It's not too far.
