Windriver goes to the Windrivers!-With Video
#1
Just got back from five days four nights in the Windriver Mts. I went with a great neighbor and his kids as well as my kids. Quite an expedition. We intended on going to an awesome fishing spot where the fish are really stupid and kids to could slap the water to their content. Unfortunately half way into that lake and stream my neighbor sprained his ankle really bad and we had to get out of that area.

Over the next four days we slowly made our way out and fished a little bit. We did find one awesome spot. The rest was too close to the main trail.

A great time was still had by all and we covered 28 miles not bad for a couple of eight year olds.

The fishing section of the video is from 8-12 minutes. The rest is camping and hiking.

That's awesome for you guys! I'm glad you do those things with your kids, it's getting to be a rare thing anymore. Very cool country too. Those kids will not soon forget trips like those, believe me [Smile]!!

Very nice! What part of the winds you go to? We are doing gannet peak and 4-5 lakes in search of goldens next month.

The winds are mtns in Wyoming that run north to south from Jackson area almost to rock springs.

Amazing fishing up there! Ive caught everything from California Goldens to Graying and sometimes just on a bare worm hook. Crazy fun except for the bears. Did you run into many bears?

We went into the trip with the intention of going off trail as the video shows. My friend sprained his ankle pretty bad so we had to back out of our original plan.

We ended up just fishing the main lakes on the highway of a trail between elkheart park and Seneca lake such as Hobbs, Sweeny and Miller.

We did find one awesome spot, but it was off trail.

We didn't see any bears but did find some scat. Basically we had to change our mind set from a fishing trip to a hiking/camping trip. It all worked out and was wonderful anyway just not the prolific fishing that I am used to up there.
