Sat and Sunday fun
#1
Saturday - I hit the Little Mantua pond for an hour before dark. I some how managed a bluegill that was close to my best ever......2 inches under the C&R record, looked like a big old black crappie! I got 11 bluegill, and 2 largemouth bass all on the fly.

Sunday - My tiwn and I hit Little Dell for an hour before dark. My twin went out on the float tube with the fly rod. I was stuck to shore with a gold kastmaster and got 2 cutts. The one pictured was the smallest I have ever got there. The next one was 15 inches and fat but my twin had the camera on the tube.

We bought the season pass up there so look forward to more updates on this place. As we bought the pass we spoke to the guy in the fee booth and he gave us 2 numbers to call when we see the bait users and illeagle fish keepers. PM me if you want the numbers fellow Little Dell users.

Nope.

It was named "minni mantua" as it has big bluegill, yellow perch, big LMB, both types of catfish, pumpkin seed sunfish, crappie, and carp.

No Black Crappie yet. Thinking they are in the middle of the pond hugging the bottom. I am going to float tube it soon and in the future I will attach my sonar to it and find them. What I want is a walleye in there.

Still I keep it to C&R, except carp, black bullheads, and suckers (if they are even in there) to enjoy this one for years to come.

ya you never know though with that place there could be other stuff we havnt got yet just like your pumpkinseed you got. good on ya for keeping the mudders and the carp out of there. ive also though about bringing a little canoe and just leave it there in the bushes so you can use it everytime you go up there, but who the heck wants to drag a canoe that far!!!![:p]

I know we aren't supposed to guess locations but if it's were I think it is I hope you stopped eating the gills out of there. The place I'm thinking of is loaded with toxic metals and you shouldn't eat any.

No way! I cannot stand that my twin knows about it let alone the guy that told me.

It isn't that place. I have yet to visit the place you are thinking of.

But the place I fish I exclusively catch and release. I have even thought of bending the barbs on my flies.

Well I kill the carp and black bullheads, plus any sucker I may find.

Something to consider: suckers are not that bad.

If they are in there, I'd leave them. They fit a niche and plus I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that most of the other fish in there will feed on baby suckers, even if for only a short time while they are big enough to eat.

id love to know aswell but if someone wants to keep it a secret i respect that, it sounds like it is a pond so its probly not all that big to have all these people know, some cool fish though from you guys out of there

ya that is true its a small area of water and not alot of shore access so to have alot of people know about it wouldnt be good. one of a kind place.

That's fine but remember most of the other ponds with all those species of fish don't allow any any boats or float tubes so I would leave them home.
