I had to wash my boat with tomato juice to get the stank off. The skunk...it burns! Four trips to Willard with 2 smb to show for my efforts. And still I wanted to go back for more. Really?
I had a problem and it was time to ask for help. Met WiperHunter2 at the marina and despite recent conditions he managed to help me get this fish crossed off my list and the stench of the Willard skunk off my back.
What a great evening on the water with a fellow forum member, admin and all around solid guy. Many thanks Curt, for generously sharing techniques and know-how to help me cross that fish off my list. I owe you one.

Except for all the smoke in the air it was a great evening on the Bay, it is just too bad the catching was so slow but I'm glad I was able to help you get at least one, even if it was of the smaller size.
Last week the water temp was down to 72*, it was good to see it came up to 77* this week. I'm thinking it will improve by Thursday or Friday,if this fair weather continues but who knows for sure[:/]. The murky water is really not helping either.
FYI: for all you Willard folks, the North marina ramp on the East side is dangerous to launch from, because of the low water, the ramp is within a few feet of being out of the water and I watched a guy drop his trailer over the edge yesterday, it did not appear to damage it but a bigger boat/trailer might have a different outcome. That part of the ramp is marked with a red line near the water line.
Also the lady at the pay station told me the South marina was going to be closed for the rest of the year.

So how many folks have you taken out to discover the Weirding Way on the lakes? That's really cool how you deal out your dance card and take folks out, or share up trips. Wish I could fish the weekdays too.
Have appreciated the lessons I've shared with ya. Nice to know I had some of the right trades, just not all the right tricks. Sometimes it's the little things - like - ya gotta feed the fish (sounds simple, right?). Got me into my first Walleye. I oughta try the fall bite for 'em down there. Still haven't slapped a Wiper for a while.
Good tip on the launch, maybe the oughta put up an orange cone? So - the - uh, news on the S.Marina - not so great. Guess that means an underlined NO for winter. Too danged bad. Guess I'm glad I tried it the year it was open.

Would it still be possible to launch a 23' Trophy. Would like to get another trip or two in before hunting season draws me away.

Sure, launching is no problem, the part that is dangerous to launch from is on the East side of the ramp and is about 1/3 of the total width of the ramp. Just do no launch at that area where you see the red line on the ramp.

Thanks for the quick response, I owe a fishing trip to a wiper newby. He doesn't believe that they fight harder than trout, I'll show him.

That is great, was it a bigger wiper or one of the smaller ones?
