For those of you that fish Pineview and primarily launch from the Port Ramp, I'm sure you've noticed the horribly deteriorated ramp conditions especially now that the water level is so low. I've already sent an e-mail of concern to the federal forest service manager overseeing Pineview on this issue.

Thanks for the info Kim, we launched from cemetery point on Sat and it is in the same condition and we had to pay $13 to launch[mad] there because the Port ramp was closed due to some Extreme marathon event being held there. Do you know if this same federal forest service manager is responsable for that ramp as well?

Hiya WH2...yep that would be the same guy is what I've been told. The more folks that send an e-mai or even letter the better chances of notice be taken....
Only a matter of time if someone unhooks the boat from trailer front to start the bouncing while backing down and a boat will be on the ramp...including great potential for busting an axle, leaf springs...not to mention bunk boards on the trailer rattling loose...oh and them big outboard motors not supported getting the bouncie going and potentially cracking the transom...it literally takes me 3-4 minutes to back down and the same time to pull the boat up the ramp and I'm driving very, very, very slow.

Amen and amen. I just sent him this:
"I'm a long-time Ogden resident who would like to fish Pineview Reservoir, but am unwilling to launch my kayak from the Cemetery Point or westside marinas there. There are two reasons for this: the launch fee is outrageous at both locations, and the condition of the ramps is deplorable. One would think that for the tens of thousands of dollars the concessionaire is overcharging, they could perform routine maintenance, but they apparently do no such thing. I have not examined the ramp at the private campground but am told that the fee there is equally scandalous.
I'm sure I'm not the only one to make such comments, and I sincerely hope that the Forest Service uses the many complaints to re-evaluate the suitability of the existing concessionaire. I suggest that in the future, the contract for such ought to include a maintenance requirement as well as a fee cap.

Funny you say that- i literally broke a leaf spring on my trailer last week! Lol watched clark drive down that ramp at warp speed yesterday... . I was waiting for a loud crack!! Btw ladies im soooo stealing your avatar!!! Haha

Anderson cove is closed... They let is launch on sat but supervised us as the end of the ramp is in about2 foot of water
