yep me too,

our season opens up here in MI on the 15th

I saw 25 deer yesterday, I probably wont see another deer the rest of the season.

But I am going any way. I hate when the season opens on the week end. last time that Happened there wasnt a parking spot for 20 contry miles... and the fall color was blazer orange, every where I looked. I might have to wait till next monday to get out, I did bag my biggest deer on a saturday one year...

Yes I've been out on the ice a few times. We've had a cold spell here in B.C., and some of the lakes have 'safe' ice. My buddy has out-fished me both times!

well,

10 hours of worm rain washed all my prety pretty ice away [Sad]

we are expecting another 10 hours of worm rain, at least this time I took the option of bailing out the boat and turning it upside down on the trailer..... I put a tarp on it last year but it did not help.

has me in a good situation for next spring. I can now get to the bottom of the boat to buff and wax......

they are still hollering cold coming this way, hope the bad stuff holds off for about a week and a half so pops can get in his deer hunting. then let it fly, the snow the ice the good ol jack frost party....

take it easy, that new ice it terriabily unpredictable. you can have 4 inche ne day and the nest it is like peanut brittle...

if you get a day the comes up above 30 dont venture there, we would miss you here... wouldnt hurt to wear a drag line (long rope some one could grab in case of an unfortunate insedint.

Have yet to see "safe" ice here in these parts. I've seen ice, but there was plenty of open water around it. One of the creeks looked like it was frozen solid 3 days ago, today it's flowing like it's the middle of summer.

Hey, I'm planning a trip out tommorow. I've heard rumours of a 6 lb. brookie caught today!

I've got to pour some jig trailers tonight!

I went to W-land as planned on sat. but it was opening back up.Darn!! So I went with plan B- a little res. about 25 miles north and it was solid with 4".Caught 3-12"bobo's and a 19" bo jiggin white teardrop/worm.Missed a bunch-must be out of practice. It was a terrific feeling to hook that 19 through the ice .I'm really stoked now.

Like I mentioned earlier, I have never eaten a trout through the ice, I plan on dedicating some hour to succeeding at this goal this winter, any tips you could pass along to me would be greatly aprciated.

I have a pet laker that has been taunting me since last spring when I hooked on to that 42 pound carp with flyrod.....

Catchin trout through the ice is too easy, especially if the lake has nuthin but trout in it!I catch a lot on a 1/4 oz kasty w/tiny piece of worm jigged off bottom. Also jig Ice Lazer jigs w/same near bottom.Hang a minnow on light wire hook and small split shots.I never use more than 6lb test line and usually use one of those light-wire strike indicators on rod.Alot of guys 'round here use Power-Bait but I dont like that sticky cr#p!

Haven't been to the waters edge for a couple of weeks. The warm day we had last week I was working and couldn't get away. [mad] I'll hafta go out this Friday if weather is decent and check it out. See if they've closed the dam up some so I can try some fishin' above it without my gear being washed over.
