Starvation or Jordanelle?
#1
Taking the Scouts out this Saturday. I haven't hit the hard deck at all this season but was thinking about hitting Bunny Gulch. Before I head all the way, any news on the Nell?

Thanks,

Jeff

I will be doing the same Saturday taking 6 scouts, was thinking of going to the Jordanelle for some perch. Any ice reports with the weather warming up. Still seems to be cold enough at night.

Thanks

My Advice for scouts or young kids would be Utah lake. You catch a ton of fish usually at a fast pace. Nothing big but it keeps them entertained. And more varity of fish is also entertaining to them. My young ones are more into what kind of fish rather than how big.

Thanks for the report, sounds like the ice is still safe.
I think that is what we want to catch alot of fish for them to have some fun.

The ice was very safe 15" thick. And the edges where also very solid. I hope this helps and be safe

Hey HYDROFISH, just wondering if you were off the hailstone or rockcliffs ramp? I too am taking some kids out on Sat and we have a pregnant woman as well so im looking for easy access. I was out at rockcliffs a few weeks ago and was able to drive my truck down the launch ramp onto the old highway. Do you know if that road has dryed up or is it still a muddy mess in the afternoon? Dont think the mini van will handle the mud to well.[Smile] Anyways, thanks for any input.

we where at hailstone marina just off the mayflower exit. We fished the north side of the state park main boat launch about 75 yards n/w of the boat docks in 35 FOW. The perch where wright on bottom fish 1" to 2" off bottom. Access was very easy just a little bit of a walk down the boat ramp. I hope this helps

Fished just off the marina ramp as you suggested, did well for all the youth catching perch, took home 12 good size ones to fillet and two nice bows. There was a lot of people up there, was a nice outing. Will probably head back next week.

Thanks again.
