11/11 yellows at the three V's
#1
i went fishing with one of my old teachers and some other friends on my teachers boat today. it was awesome. the water was super calm. both on the way there and on the way back. it was great.

on our way to the island, we stopped at a few paddies looking for anything under them. no luck there. we chased the porpoise schools around for a little bit too. nothing.

we finally decided to anchor up at the Three V's on the back side of catalina. when we got there there were only 2 other boats; the Cat Express and some other P.B.'er. fishing was scrathy, but the yellows were there.

i hooked up on one within 20 minutes of being there. it was the weirdest thing though. i was reeling my bait on because it was dead. all of a sudden my reel starts singing! it was great. that one was about 15 pounds.

we stuck around at that spot for most of the day. the fishing pressure has gone from only 3 boats to 24 boats!!![shocked]

i caught another one that was somewhere between 10-12 pounds. it was fun.

private boating is soooooooo much different that fishing off of party boats! i have only heard of the differences. now i lived them! it was weird.

over all a great day. i got 2 yellowtail. i got home, filleted the fish, and gave the meat away. i still have plenty from other yellowtail[Wink]

Hey there DH_tubinjoe,

Excellent..... just excellent report. I'm glad you had a good time. Did you help scrub the boat after returning!!!! THERE IS NO ESCAPE!!!! ha ha ha

I'm going out tomorrow and maybe Catalina but we won't get on over that way on a 3/4 day unless everyone is happy with 2 hours of fishing! ha ha

Thanks for the great report,

Hey Joe, That is a good not. It is one of the stronger knots around. I use it mostly for droprigging but also for ocean applications as well.
