Central Utah Fly Fishing
#1
Driving home after business trip to St. George, we took the path less traveled and sampled some of Central Utah’s fly fishing opportunities including East Fork of Sevier in Kingston Canyon; Otter Creek above the reservoir; Fremont River; and Fish Lake. Wanted to see Antimony Creek but took a wrong turn. Water was slightly muddy and we didn’t spend a lot of time in each spot but found new places to fish and didn’t see another fly fisherperson the entire time.

Stopped at cool fly shop in Circleville, and had fun catching splake at Twin Creek inlet on Fish Lake on a purple bunny leech (didn’t have pontoon boat). Good times and can’t wait to spend some more time at these great locations.

What was the size of the splake?

Only 10-14 inches, but feisty. We were fishing from shore, water temp was only 38 and ice had just come off a few days before. I would love to hit it this weekend with a pontoon. I suspect the bigger ones were a little further out. At any given time, there were not more than a dozen people fishing from shore or in a boat. It was surreal.
