As is the case, every Wed.the Freedoms Dream was out fishing veterans. Lately we seem to be catching a lot of channel cat, but they have been 2 to 5 lbs. Today was an exception as Dave Boekweg caught a 31" X 17 girth channel. The big catfish was big and ugly, and didn't surrender without a valiant fight.
The big black catfish is back in the lake for someone else to tangle with.

That is one ugly awesome cat! What did he try to take as a snack? A worm? It also looks like you caught him by the dike and not in the reeds somewhere. Proves to those on another thread that they are in there and willing! Just got to find them! Great job today and everyday you take those people out!!! Thanks for all you've done and keep doing!!!

Look at that boy! Must have been fun reeling that in. Glad you released it - seems that the bigger cats aren't as plentiful as they used to be.

Looks to be one-a them thar Blue Cats I done herd rumor of.
Good thing yous guys aren't in the contest (though there's space still, maybe we could for a special exception for your exceptional generosity. A "boat" entrant? )
Looks to be one of them long lanky skinny old males that mosey abouts. As few as they are, nice that he's still out there sowing his oats. Kudos on your command.

[#0000FF]Looks like an alien to me. It's so ugly it's almost purty. Those big spawning males do get a bit thin in the flanks when they get in a fightin' and spawnin' mode. But they do seem to put up a fiestier fight than the girl kitties. Always fun to catch. Good on ya for sending him back to the ladies.
Hey, Steve, I have a couple of heavier outfits I need to get down to you. They were never claimed by the person who left them at Lindon last month and they are ideal size for bigger cats and later for the stripers down at Powell.
Also, since you are too modest to post up the particulars about your upcoming fundraiser, I will add them as attachments here. Good luck.

I appreciate the rods and your continued support. I hope in the days ahead to increase the use of the boat to 6 days a week.
The new veterans home in Payson will give us the opportunity to serve many more disabled veterans each week and the alliances we are building with special needs organizations will fill the other slots with children.
What an incredible experience this has been. The fundraiser at the park on the 20th becomes increasingly important as we expand our activities. Our original goal was to serve 500 individuals with disabilities this year and now with a little help it looks like that number might be 1,000. God bless all of you for your help. Steve
