Florida Flashback
#1
Ok, late fishing report. Back in the day - went trolling a bit - deep sea fishing off Del Ray Beach - King Fish, Baracuda, - I don't even remember what else. Sorry - shoulda took notes in my log.

Um, yeah - when it all began. Little did they know what they'd started!

Seeding an obsession!

With this colder weather you have me dreaming of fishing in Florida. Did you ever smoke kingfish? That is heavenly.
They're a great fighting fish to boot. My nephew recently caught a nice king fish and sent the pic a couple days ago. Can't remeber if he said it has 42 or 48 lbs. They had some for dinner and smoked the rest.

But which end do you light, or how do you keep them lit, or . . .

Back at that young age - I hadn't been introduced to real smoked fish, Sadly. Though my dad did crack a can of kippered fish from time to time. Or smoked oysters.

But - I didn't learn the ways of the wood until much later in life.
Since - I've become much the convert!!!

I'd love to try my hand at some Florida catch! Maybe that's a vacation I should save for. Re-take that photo, but with MY kids in the shot! Hmm.

First we'll take a run to Tony's Grove! See what fall colors and frisky Trout have to say for themselves!

Funny story:
Used to recant the fish that I caught - with arms stretched. As I grew, so did the story. Realized years later that the story had expanded the results! All a matter of dimension, or perspective!! duoh.
