The neck broke off the transducer on my deep V fishing boat but still works. Put a new color unit on the big boat and I was thinking of mounting the old fish finder on my yak and mounting the transducer inside the boat, People mount them on glass boats so I figured that it should read through my loon 138. Anyone tried doing this?

Lexel adhesive works real well at adhering the transducer inside the hull. Just lightly rough up the surface with 100 or or higher grit sandpaper, then blow or wet cloth clean the spot, let dry and then adhere. If you cut out a shape of the ducer in closed cell foam, you can glue that down first to keep the glue from spreading out. Only need a thin layer, press down slowly and don not wiggle it around until it dries to prevent bubbles.

That is one way to do it. I went the scupper way. And siliconed it in place leaving a gap in the back so water can still leave my ok big game.
