You can't win this debate

[#800000]For the record FL, you started this thread with a bashing of the Republican Party as the root cause of a couple of issues; shutting down the government and proposing some legislation supposedly dealing with the LGBT portion of our society. I presented some verifiable facts that CLEARLY show that the Democratic Party is just as capable of causing a severe and long lasting impact on the country's citizens and they have been hard at work doing it since 2009.[/#800000]
[#800000]My reference of pulling your head out of the ice hole is simply because this is a fishing website and the vast majority of us on here are engaged in ice fishing right now and that seemed more appropriate than asking you to pull your head out of the sand; which I would have said if this were summer time. Any other meaning you may have attributed to my choice of words is completely your bad.[/#800000]
[#800000]I purposely did not go into your second issue. I have family members, and what I consider close friends, that are part of the LGBT community and out of my utmost respect and love for them, I will NOT discuss that issue on an open forum under any circumstances.[/#800000]
[#800000]You still don’t get it and the fact that you still don’t get it is abundantly clear to almost everybody else responding to this thread. You claim to be getting a college education and that education is the basis for your immature viewpoint on the workings of our form of government. Yeah; right! Your sucking that liberal political pabulum up like a baby at its mother's breast and don’t have a clue that you are being indoctrinated to always accept the pabulum without question.[/#800000]
[#800000]Are we from different generations? Absolutely, and I’m 100% glad I was raised without TV, cell phones, video games, and time outs. I also have a college degree in electronic engineering that I earned after spending 20 years in the service of my country (USAF). Along with that formal certificate from a state certified institution of higher learning, I also have a very well rounded education from 50 plus years in the School of Hard Knocks. Diversity training; yeah, I’ve had it, along with several refresher courses in it. I’ve also learned to keep my mouth shut (or in this case, keep my keyboard shut down) when I don’t know what I’m talking about.[/#800000]
[#800000]You, on the other hand, haven’t learned to do that. You’re still very much a child when it comes to political knowledge. Your college instructors have hopefully given you some basic tools to increase your knowledge base, but they sure as Hell haven’t given you a cornucopia of political knowledge to allow you to intelligently enter discussions of this nature without getting your rear end handed to you on a silver platter.[/#800000]
[#800000]You said I “. . . changed the topic entirely from my original post.” No, I didn’t. What I did do was try to get you to see that there is a much bigger picture here that your immaturity prevents you from seeing. The problem isn’t with the Republicans or the Democrats; the problem is with Congress as a whole. It’s a power struggle between those that think they have the power and those that want to have the power. Metaphorically speaking, you’re a snot nosed, wet behind the ears, cry baby who doesn’t have a clue – YET – of how the political system and the rest of our world really works. I’ll give you a B+ for your efforts thus far, but trust me on this kid; you’re going to lose the debate on politics when debating almost anybody over the age of say 40. You might hold your own against your peers, but you don’t have the knowledge to go toe to toe with folks twice your age or older.[/#800000]
[#800000]Have a nice day kid. And really, you need to pull your head out of the ice hole and come out of your shanty once in awhile. And for the record, that statement is in no way meant to be mean spirited.[/#800000]
